Windows Shutdown and Reboot Shotcuts....

Create One-Click Shutdown and Reboot Shortcuts

Create shutdown or reboot or logoff shortcuts and place them on desktop like other icons and whenever you want to shutdown or reboot the system/windows then just run that shortcut instead of clickig many buttons. This will save your little energy :P ;) .

You can also play a little prank on your mates. Just make a shutdown or reboot shortcut and place it on your mate's desktop and change its icon to something like IE button or Window Media Player. Now whenever he/she run that shortcut the system will shutdown or reboots. :)

--------------------------------------------

--> So here are the steps how to make Windows shutdown and reboot shortcuts :-

1) First, create a shortcut on your desktop by right-clicking on the desktop, choosing New, and then choosing Shortcut. The Create Shortcut Wizard appears.

2) In the box asking for the location of the shortcut, type shutdown. After you create the shortcut, double-clicking on it will shut down your PC.
But you can do much more with a shutdown shortcut than merely shut down your PC. You can add any combination of several switches to do extra duty, like this:

            shutdown -r -t 01 -c "Rebooting your PC"

Double-clicking on that shortcut will reboot your PC after a one-second delay and display the message "Rebooting your PC." The shutdown command includes a variety of switches you can use to customize it.Like these:

            shutdown -s -t 03 -c "BYE BYE"
            shutdown -r -t 03 -c "YO!! REBOOTING"

3) Change icon of the shortcut by right clicking and selecting properties. Then select Change Icon button and change it to whatever you want to.

Switch/Parameters:-

-r

Try different switches and see the results. Also dont forget to play the prank on your mate :P .
